These terms describe the basis on which this website is made available and the limits of what it offers. They are written plainly and in ordinary language because the site is run by one private person, not a company, and there is nothing here that needs to be hidden in small print. By reading the site you accept these terms; if you do not accept them, please simply stop reading.
What this site is
This is a personal website about cars, written from Sharjah for drivers who value comfort, a quiet cabin and a clear view out. It publishes long reviews, accounts of test drives and practical notes on living with a car in a hot climate. It also describes a small amount of paid personal help that can be booked by telephone. It is not a shop, a dealership, a broker, an agency or a workshop.
The site is operated by a private individual. There is no company, no legal form, no registered business and no staff. Where the text says what is done or offered, it means what one person does within the hours available in a week. Nothing on the site should be read as a commercial offer capable of acceptance; arrangements are made by conversation and confirmed by telephone.

The writing on this site is opinion formed by driving cars and paying attention. It is not engineering advice, mechanical certification, legal advice, insurance advice or financial advice, and it must not be relied upon as any of those. Decisions about buying, selling, insuring, registering, financing or repairing a vehicle should be made with the relevant professional or authority, and the information here is offered as a starting point for your own thinking.
Where a mechanical question arises, you are encouraged to have the vehicle inspected by a qualified specialist. Where a legal or regulatory question arises, the competent authority is the correct source. Accompanying you to an inspection and explaining what is being said does not make the person who runs this site responsible for the inspection, its findings, or any decision you take afterwards.
Accuracy and limits
Considerable care is taken to be accurate, and everything published is written after driving the car concerned. Even so, one person testing one example on one set of roads cannot know everything, conditions vary, individual vehicles differ, and specifications change without notice. No warranty of any kind is given that the information is complete, current or suitable for your particular circumstances, and you use it at your own discretion.
Prices quoted anywhere on the site are indicative and given for guidance only. They are confirmed by telephone before any appointment, and they may change. Nothing on the site constitutes a binding quotation. If you notice an error anywhere on the site, please say so by telephone or through the form, and it will be corrected without argument as soon as it is confirmed.
Using the material
The text and photographs on this site are the work of the person who runs it and remain that person's property. You are welcome to read, print and keep any of it for your own personal use, and to quote a short passage elsewhere provided you make clear where it came from. Copying whole articles, republishing the site or its photographs commercially, or using the material to train an automated system is not permitted without permission.
Permission for anything beyond personal use can be requested by telephone. It is usually given for non-commercial purposes such as a community group or a driving club newsletter. The name of the site, its wording and its arrangement of content are used to identify this site and should not be used in a way that suggests a connection or endorsement that does not exist.
Links to other places
Where the site mentions another organisation, a venue, an exhibition or an authority, it does so for information only. No control is exercised over anything published elsewhere, and a mention is neither a recommendation nor a guarantee of quality, safety or availability. Bookings, payment and cancellation
Appointments for the paid services described on this site are arranged by telephone, at a time and a firm price agreed in that conversation. Payment is made directly to the person providing the service, after it has been provided, and never through the website. No card details, bank details or payment information of any kind are taken online, and you should never send such details through the contact form.
If you need to cancel or move an appointment, a telephone call the day before is appreciated and nothing is charged. If an appointment has to be cancelled from this side, which happens rarely, you will be told as early as possible and offered another time. If a session cannot be completed for a reason outside your control, such as a car being unavailable, nothing is charged for the part not carried out.
Liability, changes and law
To the fullest extent the law allows, no liability is accepted for any loss arising from your use of this site or from reliance on anything published here, including any decision to buy, sell, rent or keep a vehicle. Nothing in these terms restricts liability where the law does not permit such a restriction. The site is provided as it is, and while it is kept available with reasonable care, no guarantee of uninterrupted access is given.
These terms may be revised from time to time, and the version published on this page is the one that applies. Material changes will be described at the top of the page for a period so that returning readers notice them. The site and these terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates and of the Emirate of Sharjah, and any dispute falls to the competent courts there.
