A private site about cars, written from Sharjah by one driver for other drivers who have been doing this a long time.
This site is run by a private person, not a company. There is no registered business behind it, no staff, no office beyond a desk, and no arrangement with any seller, workshop or manufacturer. It exists because after many years of driving in this country, and of reading car writing that seemed to be addressed to somebody else entirely, it seemed worth writing down what actually matters when you use a car here every day.
The perspective is simple. I am in my fifties, I drive a great deal, mostly alone and sometimes with passengers who are older than me, and I care about the things that make a long drive pleasant: air that goes cold quickly, a seat that still feels right after two hours, a clear view at a junction, a ride that settles after a bump, a boot that takes a real suitcase without a fight. Speed has stopped being interesting. Comfort has not.
Everything published here is written after driving the car in question on the same set of roads: the corniche with its traffic lights and pedestrians, a motorway stretch at national speed, a rough service road, and a car park with tight bays. The cars are left standing in the sun before the cooling is tested. The same checks are applied every time, which is what makes two reviews comparable rather than merely two opinions written on different days.
Alongside the writing, a small amount of paid help is offered locally: accompanying someone on a test drive, setting a car up around a person, attending an inspection, or thinking through a shortlist. It is one person's time, and the hours in a day set the boundary. No commission is taken from anyone, which is the only arrangement under which advice of this kind can be given honestly.
Every judgement on this site is tied to something that occurred on a road: a bump the car took badly, a vent reading that stopped falling, a pillar that hid a pedestrian for two paces. Adjectives without events are how advertising is written, and they are avoided here as carefully as possible.
One person driving one example of a car on one set of roads cannot know everything. Where a conclusion is uncertain, it is described as uncertain. Where a car might suit someone of a different height or a different habit, that is said plainly rather than hidden behind a confident verdict.
No advertising, no sponsorship, no commission and no free loans arranged in exchange for coverage. This limits how many cars can be covered and how quickly, and that is an acceptable price. Readers who pay nothing deserve to know that nobody else is paying either.
