Privacy notice
This site is run by a private person in Sharjah, not by a company. The amount of personal data it handles is deliberately small, and this notice explains in plain language what is collected, why, how long it is kept and what you may ask for. It is written to reflect the principles of personal data protection law in the United Arab Emirates, and it applies to everyone who visits the site or writes through it.
Who is responsible
The site is operated by a private individual living in Sharjah, whose postal address and telephone number appear on the contact page. There is no company, no registered business and no group of people involved; one person decides what is collected and what happens to it. That person is the point of contact for any question or request about your data, and can be reached on the telephone number given on the contact page.
Because the site is a private undertaking rather than a commercial one, no data protection officer has been appointed and none is required. If you would prefer to raise a matter in writing rather than by telephone, you may send a letter to the postal address on the contact page, and it will be answered in the same way a telephone enquiry would be.
What is collected
Two kinds of information exist. The first is what you choose to send: the name, telephone number, optional contact address, subject and message that you type into the form on the contact page, together with the confirmation that you agreed to be answered. Nothing else is asked for, and there is no hidden field. If you telephone instead of writing, a note of your name and what you asked about may be kept for as long as the conversation is ongoing.
The second is the ordinary technical record that any web server keeps: the address your request came from, the page requested, the time, and the type of browser. These records are produced automatically by the hosting service in order to deliver the pages and to notice abuse or technical failure. They are not linked to the messages you send, are not used to build any profile, and are not examined unless something has gone wrong.
Why it is used
Information from the form is used for exactly one purpose: to reply to you and, where a session is arranged, to carry out what was agreed. It is not used to send newsletters, offers, reminders or any other unsolicited message, because none of those are sent by this site at all. It is not combined with anything else and it is not used to make any automated decision about you.
Technical server records exist to keep the site working and secure. They allow a genuine fault to be distinguished from an attack, and they allow the hosting service to manage capacity. They are not used for measuring visitors, for advertising, or for any form of analysis of behaviour, and no analytics service of any kind is installed on this site.
How long it is kept
Messages sent through the form, and any notes made from a telephone conversation, are deleted within twelve months of the matter being concluded, and usually a good deal sooner. Where a paid session has taken place, a minimal record of what was agreed may be kept for the same period in case a question arises about it afterwards. Once deleted, the information cannot be recovered, because no backup of messages is kept beyond that period.
Technical server records are kept for a short period by the hosting service according to its own routine, generally measured in weeks rather than months, and are then overwritten automatically. Nothing is archived for historical interest, and no copy of any personal information is retained once its purpose has ended.
Who else sees it
Nobody. Your details are not sold, rented, shared, exchanged or passed to any other person, business or service for any purpose. There is no marketing list, no partner network and no arrangement with any seller, workshop, rental provider or manufacturer under which enquiries might be forwarded. If a conversation makes it sensible for you to approach a third party, you are given the information and you approach them yourself.
The only parties with technical access are the hosting service that stores the site and the telephone provider that carries calls, each acting in the ordinary course of providing that service and bound by its own obligations. Information may also be disclosed if a competent authority requires it under the law, which has not occurred and would be complied with only to the extent legally required.
Security
Pages are served over an encrypted connection, so what you type into the form travels protected between your browser and the server. Messages are stored in an account protected by a strong and unique passphrase with a second factor required to sign in, on a device that is itself encrypted and kept up to date. Only the one person who runs the site has access.
No system is beyond failure, and it would be dishonest to claim otherwise. That is one reason the site deliberately asks for as little as possible: there is no account to create, no password to store, no payment information taken online, and no document upload. If a breach affecting personal data ever occurred, those affected would be told directly and promptly, along with what had happened and what to do about it.
Your rights
You may ask what information is held about you and receive a copy of it. You may ask for anything inaccurate to be corrected, and for anything no longer needed to be deleted. You may withdraw the agreement you gave when sending a message, in which case the message and any notes from it are deleted, though this does not undo a reply already sent. You may object to a particular use, and you may ask that your details be provided to you in a portable form.
Requests are made by telephone or by letter to the address on the contact page, and are answered without charge and as quickly as possible, normally within a few days. If you are not satisfied with the response, you are entitled to raise the matter with the competent supervisory body for personal data protection in the United Arab Emirates, and doing so does not affect any other remedy available to you.
